On the Spot with Anna Kovach: The Roller Derby Queen Leading Vend’s Customer Support Revolution

Role: Head of Support

Location: NYC

At Vend, we don’t just build smarter parking tech—we build a team of brilliant, passionate people who power it. One of those people is Anna Kovach, our Head of Support based in NYC. From rolling with the Quads of Zoom to rolling out scalable support systems, Anna’s journey is anything but ordinary.

We sat down with her to learn more about her background, her impact at Vend, and, yes, her roller derby alter ego.

What brought you to Vend?
After nearly a decade at Uber, I was craving that early-stage startup energy again. Vend gave me the chance to stay connected to the automotive world while diving into the fast-evolving prop-tech space. It’s been the perfect blend of familiar territory and fresh challenges.

What were you doing before you joined Vend?
At Uber, I led the North American Proactive Outreach program, making sure drivers and couriers got the right help before they even asked for it. It was a cross-functional role that sat between support, engineering, digital channels, and product. That experience prepared me for building Vend’s support strategy from the ground up.

What’s your favorite part of working at Vend?
The autonomy. I get to build systems, experiment, and iterate, while working with some of the best humans I’ve ever met. It’s energizing to be part of an organization still being shaped. We’re not following a playbook; we’re writing it.

What’s one project you’re especially proud of?
Implementing our CRM was a huge milestone. I led the search for the right tool, selected Intercom, and managed the migration across all support channels. We integrated it with our phone provider, set up automations, and trained the team. We now have faster response times, better visibility, and a solid foundation for scale.

(👀 Stay tuned for a future post diving into how we built our support tech stack!)

What’s one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?
I used to play roller derby! My derby name was IndyAnna Bones and the Quads of Zoom, and my number was 1922, the year King Tut’s tomb was discovered.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
Easy: solving all the mysteries on Unsolved Mysteries. Those stories are wild. I want answers!

Current binge?
I’m rewatching The X-Files, including the movies. I’m on season 6. #thetruthisoutthere

Last song you listened to?
Heeby Jeebies by Isaac Rother & The Phantoms.

From derby days to data dashboards, Anna brings curiosity, grit, and heart to everything she does. She’s the kind of leader who’s not just improving support at Vend, she’s redefining what it means to truly care for customers at scale.

Got a parking question or just want to talk X-Files theories? Anna’s your person. 👽
